Dr. Youngjoo Ko

Dr. Youngjoo Ko has been working as president of ASIP since 2020. He is currently president of Daejeon Institute of S&T for Enterprise and People in Korea. He took PhD in S&T Policy and Technology Management in the University of Manchester in 2006.

Since then, he has worked for development of S&T policy particularly in the field of Government and Public sector as members of so many committees. He is now a member of Presidential Committee of Intellectual Property and other committees. He is very much interested in Regional Innovation and Global cooperation based on new technologies.

Prof Sung-Soo Seol

Prof. Sung-Soo Seol is a PhD, CVA, KCVA well known in Korea. He is an Emeritus Professor at Dept. of Economics, Hannam University as well as the CEO of Seol & Values.

He is a Founding Honorary Chairman of the Korea Valuation Association(KVA) and an Honorary Chair of the Korea Technology Innovation Society(KOTIS).

He also founded the Asian Society for Innovation and Policy(ASIP) and served as an Honorary Chairman until 2020.

DR. ILWON (Veny) SEO

An assistant professor of Economics at Chonnam National University holds a PhD from University College London in Planning Studies and a PhD from KAIST in Technology Management. He was a policy researcher at the national research institute and LG Electronics. Teaches knowledge of urban economics, regional innovation, and econometric data analysis methods. His research topic includes Regional innovation system, R&D policy, Network economics, and Technology commercialization policy.

DR. ILWON (Veny) SEO

Dr. Song, Jaeryoung

He worked for National Institute of Green Technology (NIGT) in field of international cooperation on climate technology. Appointed as a policy fellow at the National Council on Climate and Air Quality (NCCA) under the Presidential office of the Republic of Korea for making international science and technology programs with UNEP, UNDP, UNIDO, and other UN agencies. Served the National Research Council of Science & Technology (NST) as the head of international cooperation division and research and development (R&D) strategy division.

Currently, focuses on Strategic communication on policy making process of climate technologies and innovation platform, north-south cooperation research under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and other climate Official Development Assistance (ODA). At the same time, serves as the Chairperson of Climate Change Committee at the ASIP, an advisory expert of the Green Seoul Citizen Committee at Seoul Metropolitan Government, and an adjunct professor in division of Media & Contents at Sungkonghoe University in Korea

Dr. Song, Jaeryoung

Dr. Jiyoung Park

An Associate Professor at DURP of the University at Buffalo (UB), The State University of New York. Dr.Park was also employed as a post-doctoral scholar at the University of Southern California (USC), where he earned his Ph.D. in Planning. Recent studies are moving toward topics related to changes in spatial networks from local to global scales affected by digital transformation.

Also, he extended his research to external changes including climate change and the fourth industrial revolution, working for the Editor-in-Chief of the Asian Journal of Innovation and Policies

Dr. Jiyoung Park

Prof Dr. Angelina Yee, Seow Voon

Dr Yee began her career as an auditor and an accountant while she was working in Australia, Singapore, United Kingdom and Malaysia. She is currently a Professor and Director (Research and Enterprise) in APU. She is a chartered accountant and has obtained the ASEAN CPA recognition and was a council member of CPA Australia Malaysia Division for 2013-2015. She has also received the SME ICONS award in 2021. She received the Endeavour Executive Fellowship Award from Australia in 2015. She involved in writing a strategic plan and few policies, and review of National Higher Education Strategic Plan for Ministry of Higher Education. Dr Yee’s research passions are mainly in the area relating to university-industry collaborations including evaluating and managing innovations, multicultural and multi-disciplinary approach on national/regional collaborations, business/technology valuations, sustainability, and accounting and auditing related research areas. She received research grants from MAREF MOSTI, MoHE/MoE, Australian High Commission and CPA Australia.

Board Member of ASIP, Vice President for International Affairs, Full Professor, Dept of Public Policy, Hanbat National University, South Korea. Holds BSc in Physics from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and a MA in Public Administration from Seoul National University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Science and Technology Policy Studies from Sussex University, UK. Worked as a research fellow at the Office of Higher Education Research, Korean Educational Development Institute. Currently, teaches students at the Department of Public Policy in Hanbat National University. Also was appointed as an Auditor General Executive in KBSI (Korea Basic Science Institute). Have also worked for KOTIS (Korea Technology Innovation Society) as a vice president and served as an Editor in Chief of Journal of Korea Technology Innovation. His research interests are the evolution of higher education and innovation systems Asian in catch-up countries, university-industry collaboration, and social big data analysis.

An associate professor and chair in the department of Asia-Pacific Industrial and Business Management, National University of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Science and Technology Policy at PREST, University of Manchester, UK, and an MBA at Sun Yat-Sen University, Taiwan. She used to work for over 12 years in Taiwan’s Central and Local Government, rising to Section Chief. Her current research centers on science and technology policy, innovation, and National/Regional Innovation System. Recently, she published papers in the Research Policy, Technology in Society, and International Journal of Technology, Policy, and Management. She is also the associate editor of JSTM (Journal of Systems Thinking and Management).

Dr. Avvari V. Mohan

A Professor and Deputy Head (Engagement & Impact) at the School of Business, Monash University Malaysia. He received his doctorate in Management of Innovation from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore following which he visited South Korea on a Research Fellowship at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). His work focuses on innovation systems (inter-organizational linkages) that help organizations to develop innovations and contribute to sustainable development. He has published his work in international journals and in reports for international agencies. He is a member of the steering committee of the Asian Society of Innovation & Policy, associate editor-in-chief for the Asian Journal of Technology Innovation and also on the editorial panels of other international journals in the area of Innovation and policy.

Dr. Avvari V. Mohan

Dr. Ganesaraman Kalyanasundaram

The Vice President and head of Global Internal Audit at [24]7.ai and their CSR trustee. He is Professor of Practice at FMC, MSRUAS at, Bangalore. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore (2021). His Ph.D. thesis was on "Tech Startup Failures in India: Causal Attributes, Life Expectancy, and Exits". He is a qualified cost and management accountant from the ICWAI Institute (2013), a triple gold medalist in PGDBA from LIBA (2001), and an engineering gold medalist from Bharathidasan University (1996). He has earlier worked at GE Healthcare, Visteon, and Lucas TVS.

An experienced professional with over eight years of experience in Korea is deeply passionate about driving innovation and analyzing its impact on startup ecosystems. Specializing in facilitating partnerships and mentoring future leaders, their research focuses on examining the influence of ESG principles on startup investments, including their effects on corporate performance. This research involves analyzing historical Venture Capitalist data while considering moderating factors that affect firms' performance. By leveraging their expertise, valuable insights can be gained into how ESG principles shape investment decisions for startups, as well as their subsequent impact on corporate performance.

Roger, Royo

Prof Jeonghwan Jeon

A Professor in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering of GNU. He holds BS and MS in mechanical engineering from KAIST. He holds Ph.D. from Seoul National University. He has nine years of experience as a senior engineer at the semiconductor division of Samsung Electronics, Korea. His research interests include technology planning, technology policy and open innovation.

For over 17 years have published, edited, and reviewed national and international journals. Research areas are principally enterprise education and the application of technology to business. Hold a number of external appointments with commercial and academic institutions and am currently shouldering the responsibility as Senior Head of School, for the School of Business.

The role includes ensuring the quality and relevance of programs and courses, recruiting, developing, and managing faculty members to maintain a high standard of teaching, research, and service. Also working with faculty to design and update the curriculum to meet the needs of students and industry trends.

Ensuring that students receive appropriate support services to enhance their learning experience and address any academic or personal issues. Building and maintaining partnerships with industry professionals and organizations to foster collaborations and internships for students and finally plan and manage research and publications, to encourage and support members of the School in conducting research and publishing scholarly work.

Dr. Yutao Sun

Dr Yutao Sun is a leading young scholar on the S&T and innovation studies. Now, He is a professor of innovation management in the School of Economics and Management, Dalian University of Technology, China. He was awarded a Marie Curie Fellowship under the European Union’s FP7 and worked as a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham between 2012 and 2014. His research interests focus on innovation systems, networks, and policy. He published several articles on China’s innovation system and policy in international journals, such as Science, Research Policy, Technological Forecasting and Social Change.

Dr. Ramon M. Docto

Dr. Ramon M. Docto is currently on his second term as the 8th President of the Palawan State University. He traces his humble roots in Agusan Del Sur, the place where he was born, and later on took his primary and secondary education. His passion is entrenched in the field of Sciences, being a holder of a degree in Bachelor of Science in General Sciences at the Southwestern University in Cebu City and PhD in Environmental Science at University of the Philippine Los Baños. Teaching has always been close to his heart. He has been teaching for fourty (40) years at Palawan State University. Armed with the passion for research, He became a Research Director for six (6) years. He has thirteen (13) Research Publication and twenty (20) research projects/undertaken. He was also a visiting professor in Master of Science in Environmental Management Program at Thai Nguyen University, Peoples Republic of Vietnam. He is the National President of the Philippine Society for the Study of Nature (PSSN) and Consortium Chairperson of the Southern Tagalog Islands Research and Development Consortium (STIRDC). He is the recipient of the Macli Eng Dulag Environmental Award by the University of the Philippines and the Most Outstanding CEO Global Education Award by the Asian Council Leaders, Administrators, Deans and Educators in Business (ACLADEB) Foundation Inc. in Partnership with CERTS Educational Services.

Dr. CHEA Vatana

Dr. Chea Vatana is the Vice President for Research and Innovation at the Cambodia University of Technology and Science (CamTech). Prior to that, he was the Director of Research, Research Coordinator, Research Associate, and Doctoral Fellow at various academic institutions in several different countries in Asia and Europe. He is currently also serving as the Secretary General of the Comparative Education Society of Cambodia and a member of the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population. His research interest includes population projection, migration and development, human capital development, the economics of education, and the economics of household.
